ABOUT PHYSIOTHERAPY CENTRE

The Physiotherapy Centre was established in a small room in the old building with Shri M.L. Chainani, a graduate of the first Batch of Physiotherapy in India in 1956. Initially the Department provided patient services. The Department has developed over years from its budding stage, to a full-fledged teaching and treatment centre.

Physiotherapy Centre provides services to individuals for developing, maintaining and restoring maximum movement and functional ability, threatened at any stage of life by ageing, injury, diseases, disorders, conditions or environmental factors.

Physical Therapists / Physiotherapists are qualified and professionally required to:

  • undertake a comprehensive examination of patients
  • evaluate the findings from the examination to make clinical judgments regarding patients
  • formulate a diagnosis, prognosis and plan
  • implement a physiotherapy intervention/treatment programme
  • determine the outcomes of any interventions/treatments
